Trump threatens to ‘blow up the rest of’ Iran and ‘its leaders’ with new Strait of Hormuz ultimatum

President Donald Trump warned that he would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz and threatened to ‘blow up the rest of Iran and its leaders’.

The US president announced hours ago that he would extend the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely.

The announcement came just a day before the ceasefire was due to expire, as questions remained over whether a second round of peace talks would be held.

But in a provocative post on his Truth Social page on Tuesday night, the president denied he would reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

“Iran doesn’t want the Strait of Hormuz closed, they want it opened so they can make $500 Million a day (so that’s what they stand to lose if it’s closed!),” Trump said.

“They say they just want it closed because I completely blocked it (turned it off!), so they just want to ‘save face’,” he defended.

The president continued: “People came to me four days ago and said, ‘Sir, Iran wants to open the Strait immediately.'”

‘But if we do that, we can never make a Deal with Iran unless they blow up the rest of their country, including their leaders!’

Says he won’t reopen vital Strait of Hormuz

The White House had planned to send Vice President J.D. Vance to Pakistan to negotiate an end to the war with Iranian officials, but the administration put the trip on hold due to rejected Iranian efforts to restart negotiations.

Iran has not yet responded to Trump’s statement that the ceasefire will be extended. Both countries have warned that they are prepared to continue fighting if there is no agreement.

For example, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told Iranian state television that a ‘final decision’ had not been made on whether to agree to further talks due to ‘unacceptable actions’ by the US, referring to the blockade of Iranian ports.

The White House was planning to send Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan to meet with Iranian leaders.

As the president considers what options to consider next, he chided a Wall Street Journal columnist for writing. a column He published a statement titled ‘Iranians think Trump is a sucker’.
