Trump threatens to pull endorsement of US Representative Lauren Boebert after she campaigns for Massie

WASHINGTON, May 16 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday threatened a primary challenge against hardline conservative U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, so far a staunch Trump ally, who is campaigning for maverick Rep. Thomas Massie in her Kentucky district.
• “Boebert is campaigning for Thomas Massie, the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in Our Country’s History, from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, and anyone who can be that stupid deserves a good Primary fight!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
• Trump has vowed to oust Massie, a Republican who challenged the president in Congress on key legislation and the Iran war and led his party’s effort to release government files on late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
• The president’s quest to unseat Massie poses a test of his grip on the Republican Party.
• Trump’s social media post came hours after Boebert joined the campaign for Massie, who faces her Trump-backed opponent, retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, in the Republican primary in Kentucky on Tuesday.
• “Anyone want to run against Weak-Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District?” Trump published it. “Just let me know or announce your Candidacy and I will be there for you!”
