Alistair Petrie gave his support IndependentSafeCall campaign aims to raise £165,000 to support the 70,000 children who go missing in the UK every year.

The actor urged the public to support SafeCall, which is “confidential, compassionate and there when needed for every child and young person”.

Independent, In partnership with the charity Missing People, it is helping raise funds to launch a new service that will give young people in crisis a lifeline.

He said the aim of the campaign was to “save young people and children from harm before it happens to them”.
