Young woman ‘bundled into tow truck by two men on busy street in terri | UK | News

It is feared that a young woman was kidnapped after she was seen being put into a truck by two men who approached her.
Met detectives have launched a manhunt to track down the woman and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident involving the woman and a tow truck in London’s Canary Wharf on Tuesday (September 30) to come forward.
Police arrived at the scene at around 11.25pm following reports that a woman had been forced into a white Ford Transit tow truck by two men on Millharbour Road, at the junction with Lighterman’s Road.
This led to an ongoing investigation launched by detectives from the Met’s Middle East Criminal Investigation Unit.
Detective Inspector Grant Stevens, who is leading the investigation, said: “We wish to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and are concerned for the welfare of the young woman involved, whom we believe to be aged between 28 and 32 and who we have not been able to identify.
“Were you in or near Millharbour Road, E17, at the time of the incident and did you see anything suspicious or do you have any CCTV or mobile phone footage to assist us with our investigations?”
A 42-year-old man from East London was arrested on Wednesday (October 1) on suspicion of kidnapping in connection with the incident and has been released on bail while investigations continue.
