US President Donald Trump said that he will go to China in April upon the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In his post on the social media platform Truth Social on Monday (local time), Trump said that they had a very nice phone call.

He stated that the call covers Ukraine, Russia, fentanyl, soybeans and other agricultural products, adding that the two parties have made a good and very important agreement for Big Farmers and that it will only get better.

He said the meeting followed a “highly successful” meeting in South Korea on October 30 and that both sides had made significant progress in keeping recent agreements up to date and accurate.

“Since then, significant progress has been made on both sides in keeping our agreements current and accurate. Now we can focus on the big picture,” Trump said in his post on Truth Social. he said.

President Trump also announced that he will host the Chinese leader for an official visit to the United States in late 2026.

He said the United States’ relationship with China is “extremely strong” and accepted Xi’s invitation to visit Beijing in April 2026.

According to the statement, the two leaders also discussed the war in Ukraine.

President Xi reiterated China’s support for all efforts that contribute to peace and expressed hope that the parties involved in the conflict will reduce differences and work for a just, lasting and binding peace agreement.

Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi reaffirmed close cooperation with the United States during a phone call with President Donald Trump, just hours after speaking with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Japanese state media reported today.

Takaichi said that his meeting with Trump took place at the request of the US President, and that the US President informed him about his phone call with Xi on Monday. But he declined to go into further detail, including any discussion of his comments on a possible situation in Taiwan, according to the Kyodo report.

Beijing and Tokyo have sparred over Takaichi’s previous remarks suggesting Tokyo could deploy military forces in the event of a conflict in the Taiwan Strait.

In his response to a parliamentary question on November 7, Takaichi said that a military attack on Taiwan could create a “survival-threatening situation” for Japan. Following this, Beijing suspended the resumption of imports of Japanese seafood and advised its citizens not to travel to or study in Japan.

However, China’s Foreign Ministry said Trump told Xi during the talks that he understood the importance of the Taiwan issue.

China and the United States should maintain the momentum in relations and continue moving in the right direction on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday after their phone conversation, Xinhua reported.
