Trump trial continues with more FBI testimony after rifle called ‘prepared to fire’

Ryan Routh’s federal hearing, accused of assassinating President Donald Trump while playing golf in September 2024, continues on Tuesday with more FBI judicial experts planned to witness.

On Monday, the jury members heard Erich Smith, FBI firearms and vehicle movements, claiming that the rifle was a Chinese -made Norinco SKS, near the sixth hole of the Trump International Golf Club. Smith said that the gun was in “working conditions” when he was saved, that he successfully tested it in the FBI laboratory and that he was configured with a tour and security closed in the room.

He also stated that the serial number of the rifle was “destroyed in several places”, but it can be partially restored.

Smith showed the jury members the 7.62×39 mm full metal jacket tours loaded on the rifle.

“Bullets were designed to put a hole in things,” he said. “If he had hit the target, he would make a hole in something.”

Routh, representing himself, examined Smith about whether all SKS rifles were semi -automatic, whether the test gush will be recorded on the video and whether the gun could change his hand on a gun show.

“So, do we just have to take your word? Routh Smith asked.

Smith replied: “That was what happened.”

Judge Family Cannon, who was appointed by Trump, continued his objections to prosecution when Routh went beyond the scope of testimony.

The Court also informed the FBI biologist Curtis Gaul, who testified about the collection of potential DNA samples from rifle gramcies, a glove, zipper vineyards and other items. He briefly examined the cross, and asked if Gaul knew where he was out of the rifle and who was the scope of the rifle.

Cannon cut off the questioning several times and called on both prosecutors and Routh to move the exams.
