Trump ‘undisciplined, immature and narcissistic’ but not ‘stupid’

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday called President Trump “undisciplined, immature and narcissistic” but not “stupid.”

“He knows he’s in trouble. When that happens, he swings, and that’s what he’s doing right now. He swings. That’s the way to describe what you’re seeing right now. He’s not stupid. That’s another problem the Democrats have,” Christie said during a live interview at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

“They think he’s stupid. He’s not stupid. He’s undisciplined, immature and narcissistic, but he’s not stupid. That’s not one of his sins,” he added.

Christie worked on debate preparation and strategy during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

“When Trump is in a lather, he will say or do anything to get what he wants,” he told the crowd in Cambridge, Mass.

“I think what’s happening now is he feels like the presidency is slipping away from him,” he said, noting that the president’s approval rating among independents and others has fallen. he added.

last week YouGov/The Economist poll Trump’s net support has decreased, with 35 percent of Americans approving of Trump’s presidential administration and 58 percent disapproving.

Christie said his base was influenced in part by the failure of lawmakers and other leaders to hold Trump accountable.

“Of the 535 members of the United States Congress right now, the best example of that is Lindsey Graham. This is a guy who only cares about his title. Nothing else. Absolutely nothing else,” Christie said at the Republican senator from South Carolina’s event on Monday.

“He’s a boring, empty person. And he says the same things he’s said about Donald Trump in the past, and all he wants to do is play one more round of golf and pray for the confirmation of the United States Senate.”
