Trump Urges EU To Impose 100% Tariffs On India, China To Pressure Russia: Report | World News

US President Donald Trump reportedly called on the European Union to bring up to 100 percent tariffs to India and China as part of Russia’s effort to put pressure on the war with Ukraine.

According to The Financial Times, the President made this request after turning it into a meeting between senior US and EU officials in Washington on Tuesday. The joint meeting aimed to discuss ways to increase the economic cost of the Moscow War.

Following the meeting, a US official said they were ready on them if the European partners stepped with them.

Previously, Trump announced 25 percent of mutual tariffs of Indian imports in July and then increased India’s oil trade with Russia to 50 percent. Although China was the largest oil buyer, the US did not voicate its duties and has currently applied 30 percent of Chinese imports.
