Telangana Government to Completely Take Over Hyderabad Metro
Hyderabad: In a major policy decision, the State Cabinet has decided to acquire complete control of the Hyderabad Metro project from L&T. Apart from this important infrastructure drive, the Cabinet also finalized the state’s comprehensive road map for the 2027 Census mandated by the Central Government.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao briefed the ministers about the comprehensive program required for administrative preparation and execution of big data collection exercise.
Here are the highlights from the Cabinet’s debate on the census:
Phase One Schedule: The first “Operation Home Listing” phase will begin on May 11 and end on June 9.
Standardized Questionnaire: The State will use a special 34-question format prescribed by the Center to conduct the house listing process.
Intensive Manpower Deployment: To ensure smooth operations, the government is deploying a massive workforce of 89,000 government employees, including designated enumerators and nodal officers.
Phase Two Timeline: Following the house listing operation, the second and final phase of the census is scheduled to officially begin in February 2027.
