Trump’s Easter Message Isn’t Just Wrong—It’s Blasphemous

A New York priest beloved by everyone from firefighters to refugees to construction workers to the homeless had much the same reaction as any true Christian when he heard President Donald Trump was compared to Jesus Christ at the White House Easter dinner. Father Brian Jordan, Assisi St. “Donald Trump is no more Jesus Christ than I am an astronaut on Pluto,” he said from Midtown Manhattan, where he serves as pastor of St. Francis Church. Jordan also voiced his opinion of those who stood next to Trump in the East Room on Wednesday, nodding in approval at a disrespectful comparison made by televangelist Paula White-Cain, head of the White House Department of Faith and the president’s so-called “spiritual advisor.”
