During the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), US President Donald Trump echoed from the heart of New York, while hosting an unprecedented meeting with leaders from eight major Muslim countries. The symbolic meeting on a central table with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who lived next to Trump, led to diplomatic speculation.
For the first time, leaders of Türkiye, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE came together at a high -profile meeting of the US. Trump not only praised them, but called the Middle East as ‘the most important part of the planet’. In today’s DNA section, Zee News Management Editor Rahul Sinha analyzed US President Trump’s meeting with leaders from eight Muslim countries:

Muslim union
The New York meeting arrived just a few days after a turning point meeting in Doha on September 15, and the 57 Muslim nation has been reported to discuss creating a ‘Islamic NATO’, a common military alliance.
Shortly after, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a defense agreement on September 18, and Pakistan even claimed that he could share nuclear weapons with Saudi Arabia if necessary.
Rising power or strategic diplomacy?
While such movements show that there is an increasing unity, statistics reveal that Muslim nations are still behind the Western powers military and economically:
Defense budget: A proposed Islamic NATO would have a combined defense budget of approximately $ 200 billion of the US $ 886 billion of US dollars.
Active Unions: While Muslim countries jointly have approximately 2 million active soldiers, the US alone has 1.4 million and EU about 1.5 million.
GDP: The United GDP of Muslim nations is 28 trillion for the US and $ 4 trillion for US dollars compared to USD for $ 20 trillion for the EU.
In spite of these inequalities, the increasing unity of Islamic nations and aggressive diplomacy are accepted by Western forces even.
Palestine’s recognition and increasing unrest
European countries are also calibrating their postures. Despite Trump’s open opposition to such recognition, France, Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal officially recognized Palestine as an independent state.
Shift is not only political, but reactive. Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, clashed with Trump on the Palestinian issue. Meanwhile, the cities in Europe-Rome, Milan, Paris, and others, often, have seen pro-Filestin protests, including radical elements and Arab refugees.
Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni refused to recognize Palestine until it was removed from Gaza, which led to chaos at Hamas Street.
Shifts and impact
The growing Muslim population in Europe is another factor behind this diplomatic pivot:
Germany: Muslim population 7 percent
France: 10 percent (it has doubled since 2010)
England: Muslim population 16 percent
When changing demographic characteristics are combined with the street -level aggression, we Western leaders force Middle East policies to rethink.
A divided assembly
Three parallel powers appeared in the UN:
1: The ambitious Islamic block – calls for a new global order.
2: It is struggling between the rising Islamic radicalism with the support of Western – Palestine.
3: India and others – are also influenced by Islamic extremism and observe changing alliances.
