Swansea inquest unable to find cause of fatal house explosion due to lost evidence | Swansea

A forensic medicine, an investigation jury, in a terrace house in Southern Wales, concluded that it was not possible to say what was caused by a fatal explosion and asked for more carefully the scenes of disaster scenes.

Brian Lyn Davies, a 68 -year -old builder, died in 2023 in the explosion of a single bedroom property in Clydach Road in Morriston, Swansea, Swansea.

The power of the explosion was so violent that when the savior arrived, the house was completely “disappeared” and heard an investigation in Swansea Guildhall.

Davies found it in his kitchen six hours later. He had suffered chest and neck injuries.

A theory is the destruction of the house by a gas explosion, proves that it smells of gas for two weeks before a neighbor explosion.

However, Wales and Wales and Western public services, which protect the gas network in the southwest of England, said that it was not possible to determine the cause because much evidence has disappeared in a clear effort.

Wales and Western public services, Harry Lambert said the police had “absolute” responsibility for gathering evidence at the scene and that there was no suggestion in the network.

The Health and Safety Manager (HSE) said they could not say that a gas explosion was a possible cause – just one of the possibilities – because the scene was in danger.

Both Wales and Western Public Services and HSE criticized the amount of lost potential evidence.

During the investigation, Davies’ son Ricky Davies said to the court: uz We think that as a family, we think that big mistakes were made and we were greatly disappointed by the authorities who lost the evidence. We hope that the difficult lessons were learned and others do not have to be based on the heart of the heart. ”

The narrative, a result, said an investigation jury could not determine how the explosion took place because of lack of protected material evidence ”.

Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Senior Coronary Aled Wyn Gruffydd said: orum I know the concerns that the family’s questions are prevented from lack of preserved materials. ”

He said that he would write to the police and HSE and would ask them to prepare an agreement on how to protect the evidence for future investigations without compromising his efforts to save.

He said: “Steps can be applied to avoid or reduce the risk of future death by learning lessons in such events.”

Claire Bennett, who lived at the side door, was sitting on the couch when the explosion took place in March 2023.

He said to the investigation: “Immediately, Brian’s house disappeared. They didn’t even know that it was a last house when I first left. The white minibus was there, then I explained that Brian was there.”
