Twenty-five girls abducted from Nigerian school

Nigerian police said that 25 girls studying at a secondary school in Nigeria’s Kebbi state were kidnapped by bandits.

During the kidnapping, one staff member died and another was injured.

According to police, the incident occurred at 4 a.m. local time on Monday. No other details were immediately available.

This is the latest school kidnapping in Nigeria’s northern region, where armed groups have been targeting schoolchildren since 2014.
