Two bodies found after fire tears through home in Blue Mountains foothills | Australia news

Two bodies were found after a fire broke out in the house in the early hours of the morning and caused four people to be hospitalized.
New South Wales police said the remains were found when the house was searched on Monday morning after firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Emergency services were called about 2.10am on Monday after a house caught fire in the small town of Mount Bowen in the foothills of NSW’s Blue Mountains.
Police said five people managed to escape the fire, but the identities of two people were not released.
Around 60 firefighters from Fire and Rescue and the Rural Fire Service were needed to bring the blaze under control at around 3.30am, but many were forced to retreat before the roof collapsed, Nine reported.
RFS commissioner Trent Curtin told Nine’s Today before the bodies were found: “Parts of the house are still hot and smoldering and many parts of the house have collapsed.”
“Firefighters are moving into homes with hose lines to gain access to areas where they can search for unknown persons.”
NSW Ambulance confirmed four people were taken to Nepean hospital with smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
The four people included a man in his 30s, a teenage boy and two primary school-age boys.
Police conducted a crime scene investigation at home.
NSW police said in a statement that an investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire and the official identification of the two bodies.
