Waiter Stalks, Attacks Woman

Hyderabad:A youth was arrested for allegedly attacking a 21-year-old woman with a knife after entering her rented flat in Narsingi Puppalaguda on January 1.

Police said the accused, 23-year-old Parvathala Rohith, who worked as a waitress in a hotel in the same building, had been following and harassing the woman for about two months and repeatedly pressured her to accept his offer.

The woman returned home late on New Year’s Eve and saw that her roommates had not arrived yet. He left the door open and went to sleep. It was alleged that Rohith entered the flat and the woman raised an alarm. He was then attacked with a knife and injured in his hand. Police also said the man acted inappropriately towards her before fleeing the scene.

Narsingi police registered a case and arrested Rohith. Further investigation is ongoing.
