Two charged over Mandurah shooting
Two men have been charged after a man was shot in Mandurah in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called after a 35-year-old man arrived at Peel Health Campus with a gunshot wound to his arm and was then taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokesman said.
Police allege the man confronted another man he knew outside a house on Exchequer Avenue in Greenfields, east of Mandurah, at around 7.40am on Sunday and was shot.
“Following inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Coodanup where firearm-related parts were allegedly located and seized,” a police spokesman said.
“Two people were detained and taken into custody.”
A 39-year-old Coodanup man has been charged with seven offenses including unlawful wounding, pointing a firearm at another person, unlawful possession of a pistol or firearm and possession of methamphetamine.
A 36-year-old woman, also from Coodanup, faces five charges including possession of drugs with intent to sell or supply, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of ammunition not authorized by license or permit.
The 39-year-old man is expected to appear in Perth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, while the 36-year-old woman was bailed to appear before Mandurah Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
