Coalition seeks to rebuild ties with Indian community

A coalition senator called on the party to continue after sending the opposition to damage control after saying that a liberal colleague brought Indian immigrants to vote for labor.

Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s controversial comments led to repeating the coalition support for the Indian community, the opposition leader, and visited the leaders and business owners in Western Sydney on Sunday.

On Sunday, Mrs. Ley visited the Indian community in the Western Sydney suburb of Harris Park, also known as Little India to correct any concern.

Although members of the community previously refused to offer an official apology on behalf of the coalition, the opposition leader made a warm welcome.

The members of the community welcomed Mrs. Ley with smiles and flowers, and took a walk tour on a high street where he met local business owners and where he took a dinner in a restaurant.

Liberal Senator Maria Kovacic was also among the coalition conditions in Harris Park, and the comments said it damages Indian community members.

ABC Radio said, “Whether there is a misunderstanding, whether there is a mistake, whether there is something taken from the context, the important thing is that you go to repair it quickly when something happens,” he said.

“As a coalition that wants to go back to the government, we need to listen to Australians and understand what is important for them.”
