Two-day-old kitten found cuddling dead sibling needs adopter

A two-day-old kitten is looking for a home after he and his littermates were abandoned and left to die.

Poor Minky was still attached to her umbilical cord when she was thrown away like trash and left alone on the streets.

Scared and defenseless, rescuers from Greek Stray ResQ found the tiny kitten huddled next to his dead siblings, desperately trying to stay warm.

A rescuer who shared his devastating story online said: “He should have been with his mother. Instead he is fighting to survive.”

Currently, Minky requires 24-hour care; Feeding every two to three hours day and night. Without him… he won’t make it.”

Unfortunately, rescuers reported that Minky’s story was not unusual at all because “kitten season” had begun in Greece.

Due to the large number of unneutered stray and semi-stray cats, thousands of kittens are born in dangerous conditions every year.

The rescue team explained: “Many have been abandoned. Many do not survive. The ones that have been found are entirely dependent on volunteers; people who have stepped in to bottle feed, provide warmth, cover vet costs and do everything possible to keep them alive.”

Although Minky is currently too young to travel, it is hoped that she will eventually find a loving permanent home in the UK once she is strong enough.

For now, the rescue team is focusing on keeping him alive, along with four other vulnerable kittens named Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore and Roo, who were rescued in similar circumstances.

Asking for support, the rescue added: “The truth is simple – saving lives like these comes at a price – milk formula, food, vet care, medication and endless hours of care.

“If you’re able, please consider donating to help us continue saving these fragile lives. If you’re interested in adopting in the coming weeks, please get in touch.

“Even a small contribution could mean the difference between life and death because without us they don’t stand a chance.”

Responding to the heartwarming rescue story, one person wrote: “Poor little soul… Thank you for saving him.”

Another added: “This image is so powerful. I think all the emotions are felt here; sadness, surprise, disappointment and hope. Thank you for being the only one who didn’t look away.”
