Two motorcyclists hospitalised with serious injuries after crash in Girrawheen

Two young motorcyclists were taken to hospital with serious injuries in a crash in Perth’s northern suburbs on Friday night.

The accident happened at around 9pm when two Yamaha road motorcycles were traveling together westbound on Marangaroo Road near Mirrabooka Avenue in Girrawheen.

Both drivers, aged 19 and 20, lost control of their motorcycles for an unknown reason and crashed onto the road.

Both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

WA Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to show CCTV or dashcam footage of motorcycles traveling in the area between 8.30pm and 9.15pm.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.

It comes after WA Police reminded the community that double fines will be in effect until 11.59pm on Monday, June 1 for the upcoming WA Day long weekend.

“Police will be on duty throughout Western Australia during this period, with officers being highly visible and on duty anytime, anywhere,” a spokesman said.
