Two teenagers stabbed in ‘large scale fight’ involving 30 young people on Essex high street

Two teenagers were taken to hospital with stab wounds after a fight involving 30 young people on Southend High Street in Essex, police said.

According to the statement of the Essex Police, the police were called to the area where a “large-scale fight” took place at around 19.50 on Friday evening.

Police said that weapons were seen and used during the incident, and the two injured young people were treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers remain on scene as they work to restore order; Dispersal orders give police extra powers from Southend High Street and Queensway to Hamlet Court Road and the seafront.

Police said the orders allow officers to search unsuspecting people or vehicles for offensive weapons and insist on the removal of face masks.

Local police will continue to patrol the area throughout the evening.
