Two trains crash near Bedford, England, leaves 1 dead, more than 80 injured

Authorities are intervening after at least one person died and approximately 90 people were injured when two passenger trains collided near Bedford, England, on Friday.
The East of England Ambulance Service said it was called to a collision involving two trains at Elstow, near Bedford, at around 5.15pm local time and was immediately declared a “major incident”.
Authorities said that 1 person died at the scene, 11 people were seriously injured, 22 people were seriously injured, and 56 people were slightly injured.
Bedford is about 60 miles north of London.

All patients in serious condition were taken to hospital from the scene.
The ambulance service said it sent a number of resources to the scene, including more than 20 ambulances, specialist hazardous area response teams and six air ambulances.
