Two US soldiers killed in Iran’s attacks in Jordan have been identified on Monday, as Donald Trump prepares to expand his war against the regime.
The Pentagon announced that 25-year-old 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan and 19-year-old Private Isabella Gonzales were killed following an attack on a US air base in Jordan on Friday.
Texas native Gonzales died on Friday, and Hawaiian Feehan died on Saturday. These were the first American soldiers killed in the conflict with Iran since March, bringing the total death toll in the United States to 17.
A third US soldier was killed during the controlled detonation of an unexploded Iranian drone in northern Iraq on Saturday. The Pentagon did not identify the soldier.
Central Command is also trying to determine whether remains found near the ruined Jordanian base belong to a fourth soldier listed as missing.
As American deaths continue to rise, Trump’s confrontation with Iran is moving toward a much broader conflict, with the United States launching its ninth consecutive wave of attacks.

The United States is trying to cripple Tehran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway responsible for transporting one-fifth of global oil.
Clashes resumed last week after the United States accused Iran of violating the Memorandum of Understanding by attacking oil tankers passing through the Persian Gulf.
The US Navy responded to Iran’s aggression, re-blocking all of the regime’s ports and seizing many of its ships.

The official warned that the expanded operation would be limited because US air defense and long-range weapons stockpiles are dwindling and battle damage limits the ability to send additional troops and warplanes to the region.
