Two youths held with 20 grams of suspected MDMA in Kochi

In a major drug operation carried out by the Kochi City police, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) arrested two youths carrying 20.22 grams of suspected MDMA on Friday. The arrested were identified as 34-year-old Unais from Thrikkakara and 22-year-old Kalyani from Chingoli, Alappuzha.

The suspected narcotic substance was seized from an apartment in Edachira near Kakkanad, where they were staying, following a tip-off. Stored in zippered covers. A weighing machine and cigarette pipes were also seized in the flat.

Police sources said Unais was a chronicler under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act, while Ms. Kalayani worked in the field of film promotion.
