Typhoon Matmo hits southern China during peak holiday season
Shanghai (Reuters) -Tyfoon Matmo hit South China on Sunday, the state publisher, said that flights and many events in Hainan Island were canceled in the most intense holiday season.
Matmo, which caused floods in the Philippines last week, landed around 14:50 (0650 GMT) on the eastern coast of Xuwen in Guangdong state.
