Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that the United States and Iran had reached “a final agreed text of the agreement.”

Sharif said in the X post that Pakistan, which has been a mediator between the two countries throughout the war, is “working closely with both parties to complete the next steps.”

“Peace has never been as close as it is now,” he wrote.

Sharif’s announcement is in line with statements from other officials, including President Donald Trump, who said a deal to end the more than three-month war is closer than ever to completion.

Trump said in the Oval Office on Thursday afternoon that the United States had “reached a major agreement on war with Iran” subject to “the completion of the documentation.”

Before Sharif’s post, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X that a preliminary agreement with the United States, known as a memorandum of understanding, “has never been this close.”

All three officials withdrew public information about the contents of the agreement that appears to be forthcoming.

Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported early Friday 14 alleged provisions in the draft deal, including U.S. commitments to lift oil sanctions, end the Naval blockade and release Iran’s frozen funds.

Trump wrote angrily Real Social post He said late Friday morning that public news of the deal “has NOTHING to do with the terms agreed to in writing.”
