U.S. envoy’s mention of ‘animalistic’ behavior sparks press corps outrage

Lebanon’s frequent breaking press corps said this week warned journalists against “livestock” behavior and told them to “act civilized”.

At a press conference held with a congress committee in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon on Tuesday, Barrack, who faced a media Scrum, went to the podium and told journalists that they would have a different rules ”.

“The moment it started to be chaotic – like animal – we went,” he said. “What do you want to know what happened? Civilized, gentle, movement tolerant, because this is the problem with what happened in the region.”

Barrack is a Lebanese real estate investor who serves as the US Ambassador to Türkiye with Syria tasks.

It creates an empty, protective mentality that sees the Lebanese as a ‘Rabble’, which should be disciplined, not as common.

Morgan Ortagus, Assistant to Barrack, Assistant. Lindsey Graham (RS.C.), Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (DN.H.) and Rep. Joe Wilson (RS.C.) was accompanied and his government is visiting Beirut to realize his plans for the Lebanian Group of Iran.

The mood in the room was not particularly low, but apparently it was not quiet enough for a clearly irritated barracks, mi Do you think it is fun for us? Morgan and do you think it is economically useful for me to be here?

A purpose of the news conference was to announce that Israel was not a plan to occupy Lebanon and that they were ready to invest in an economic region in Southern Lebanon to provide business to the former Hezbollah fighters of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. However, Barrack’s comments for many Lebanon began the center.

The reporters went to social media to remove the barracks because a angry journalist still acted like Jaber’s “19th century colonial commissioner”.

Diana Moukalled, a Lebanese journalist, a founding partner in the local media organization Darij, wrote that those who want to help Lebanon should respect the press, “The Lebanon puts an empty, protective mentality, not a common, but a disciplined ‘Rabble’.

“Insults are not a means of negotiation, M says Moukalled. “We are not the scene for a diplomatic demonstration, and anyone who demands Lebanon to become a strong state should endure the questions of the press regardless of their views.”

Later on Tuesday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun made a bend statement by re -confirming the regret regret for the statements made by one of his guests on the platform by one of his guests today.

The Union of Journalists in Lebanon condemned Barrack’s words, reflecting a “rooted colonial arrogance against the people of the region”.

“Mr. Barrack, we request to publish official and public apology for their actions for journalists, and we demand that the US Embassy in Beirut takes a position on the media and unacceptable actions,” he said. He called for boycott of news conferences about Barrack until he apologized.

The 78-year-old Barrack would not exhibit less than Rosy’s opinion of the region-in an interview with York Times in July, the administration said that the administration had very little patience for the region’s resistance to helping him ”-but now he comes to a sensitive time for the US diplomacy in the region. Washington forces the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah in the hope that Israel and Lebanon will normalize relations.

Hezbollah, a terrorist group of the USA, fought with Israel after Hamas was attacked on October 7, 2023, and in a war that turned into a complete Israeli invasion of Lebanon in the late last year. After the ceasefire in November, Israel withdrew from most of the Southern Lebanon and saved for five points on the Lebanon side of the border. In the meantime, Israel continued to attack the daily attacks that the Israeli army said it was necessary to prevent Hezbollah from reconstructing the ammunition.

This month, the Lebanese cabinet assigned the army to make Hezbollah plans to disarm. The group condemned the cabinet’s decision when Israel is still invading the land and did not fully apply the cease -fire agreement of November. Critics accuse the Lebanese government of obedience to Washington – contributing to Barrack’s arguments.

Ibrahim Musawi, a deputy of Hezbollah, who chaired the Parliament’s Media and Communication Committee, said, “We strongly condemn the logic of American arrogance and its disdain for our media professionals”.

But at the same time, he devoted some anger to the Lebanese government and said that this was another series in the “evacuation of national sovereignty”.

Barrack hasn’t commented yet.
