UFC Freedom 250: Donald Trump says ‘Eiffel Tower’ like UFC structure may stay at White House

President Donald Trump compared the UFC structure being built at the White House to the Eiffel Tower and said he would “never, ever tear it down.”
The UFC will host an unprecedented show on the South Lawn of the US leader’s home in Washington, D.C., on June 14 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
Construction began with workers assembling domed arches over what would become an octagonal stage area.
Trump said he may choose to leave the arena standing because it is “attractive to a lot of people,” just as Paris decided to keep the Eiffel Tower.
The famous structure, built as part of the World Fair held in 1889 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution, was planned to be demolished 20 years after French authorities decided to preserve it.
“A lot of people don’t know that this should have been taken down right after the World’s Fair,” Trump said on TikTok.
“They said, ‘You know, we like it, let’s leave it for a while longer.’ Then they said, ‘Let’s leave it for a long time,’ and they never picked it up.
“We’re building something in front of the White House that will be very interesting to a lot of people. And I’m looking at it, and maybe we’ll never, ever tear it down.”
