Uganda’s Ghetto Kids: Dancing with Shakira and Burna Boy at the World Cup ‘very, very, very, very, very good’
Ugandan dance troupe Ghetto Kids are celebrating another milestone after appearing in the World Cup final halftime show on Sunday – a life-changing experience that 10-year-old Sierra summed up as “so, so, so, so, so good.”

Speaking to BBC’s Newsday programme, young members of the dance group and their manager say it took perseverance to rise from humble beginnings in Uganda’s capital Kampala, then find fame by balancing school work.
“Never give up…Pray to God. Listen to your family, education first, that’s all,” says Sierra.
He and 11-year-old Josephine are still on a high after making their World Cup appearance midway through Spain’s victory over Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“I saw Messi and Lamine Yamal!” Josephine says about the stars of the two teams: Argentinian captain Lionel Messi and young Spain winger Yamal.
“I was very happy to see Messi and the people watching us. I was very excited, smiling and a little nervous,” he recalls.
“Shakira, she’s so kind,” rings out in Sierra.
