Hyderabad: The second day of the HCA ‘A’ Division Two-Day League Championship was dominated by run scoring, with the triple century taking center stage. Hrishikesh Simha produced the innings of the tour with 153 for Sporting XI, while Aryan Krishna’s unbeaten 104 led Imperial to a successful chase. Evergreen’s declaration was built around Aniketh Reddy’s unbeaten century as batting-friendly conditions produced a number of impressive first-innings totals.
The standout bowling effort came from Syed Ghazi Abbas, whose disciplined spell of 5/33 took Charminar to their only emphatic victory in the best-performing matches.
However some fixtures were seriously affected by rain; After Day 2 ended, many matches ended in draws and the teams did not have the opportunity to challenge the results.
‘B’ Division witnessed a number of outstanding individual performances, led by the all-round display of M. Durga Ujjwal, who followed up her double century with a five-wicket haul on Monday to lead Sri Chakra to an emphatic victory.

Bowling proved decisive in many contests, complete with six-wicket hauls and multiple four-wicket spells that shaped results across the division. However, rain continued to be the dominant factor in many fixtures, leaving many high-scoring games abandoned.

Shringari and Ravi are leaders on day 1 of sailing
Hyderabad: The 6th YAI Secunderabad Club GMR Sports Youth Open Race began at Hussain Sagar on Tuesday and light rain greeted the fleet as the first boats were launched, received by the sailing community as a blessing from the rain gods, before the weather cleared to near-ideal racing conditions.
India’s number one Optimist sailors dominated their fleet. Shringhari Roy of the host Secunderabad Sailing Club is leading the main fleet while B. Ravi Kumar of TSA is leading the men’s fleet.
There was a breeze of 10 to 17 knots throughout the day, enough to reward sailors who read the watches well and test boat handling in all classes. Three races were completed in the afternoon session and three more in the afternoon, with all seven events slotted into three races each at the conclusion of play.
Optimist fleets kept race officials busy; The youngest sailors continually pushed the starting line and forced recalls before clean starts were achieved.
Race organizers Ajay Patel and Secunderabad Sailing Club Commander Arjun Pradipak said they were pleased with the opening day and that the races were completed both in sessions and in conditions that provided a fair test for each class.

Central authorities inspected Khelo Youth Games facilities
Hyderabad: As part of preparations for the 8th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2026 to be hosted by Telangana, a team of officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) visited major sports venues in Hyderabad on Tuesday to assess their readiness for the prestigious national event.
The SAI delegation, led by Executive Director Amar Jyoti, along with Deputy Directors Madhu Harsha, Gopal Kandpal and Mohit, inspected GMC Balayogi Sports Complex, Shooting Range, KBR Indoor Stadium, Hussain Sagar Water Sports Training Centre, Cycling Velodrome and Lal Bahadur Stadium.
Officials examined the existing sports infrastructure, the preparation of the field and the facilities available for athletes, technical officials and spectators.
The SAI team expressed satisfaction with the quality of existing sports infrastructure in Hyderabad. However, they suggested minor repair and maintenance work be carried out in a few places.
The SAI delegation will continue its inspection tour by visiting Hakimpet Sports School and sports facilities in Medchal, Karimnagar, Warangal, Hanamkonda and various other districts on Wednesday.
