When retailers shifted production outside the UK, Mr Tyler continued to produce jewelery in-house and sell direct to customers through the business.

Mr Tyler’s daughters Emelie and Stephanie later joined the business, which offers “fine” jewelery made in London.

As well as trading online, the business operates appointment-only showrooms on Farringdon Road in London and St Ann’s Square in Manchester.

In a statement on its website, Purely Diamonds said its jewels “reflect a perfect balance between artistry, precision and personal meaning.”
