UK homes facing heatwave water shortage after huge Thames Water outage | UK | News

As Britain experiences its third heatwave of the summer, there have been many problems with Thames Water’s infrastructure across London and the Inner Counties.

The water supplier acknowledged that residents in east London and north-west London were separately facing supply difficulties, leading to reports of ‘no water’ in certain areas.

Thames Water also confirmed that the disruptions were affecting a significant part of the Home Counties surrounding London, including postcodes in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.

The difficulties arise on the opening day of the country’s third heat wave of the summer. Overnight temperatures in London are hovering around 24C, according to the Met Office, with forecasts calling for 33C on Thursday, July 8.
