A group of men allegedly tried to storm a pub in Cornwall and attacked punters “for no reason”. The incident took place at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston late on April 3. A member of staff at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston claimed the group were stopped from entering the venue at around 10pm.
They added: “One took off his belt and tried to hit people with it.” The staff also claimed that the back door of the venue was damaged and the group tried to enter the venue through this door.
An eyewitness claimed several people suffered minor facial injuries after smokers outside the pub were attacked by a group of five men “without known cause or reason”. Cornwall Live. The witness also claimed that these people had been at the bar before.
They claimed tensions had been rising for “a few weeks”.
They added: “Many people were slightly injured in the attack.”
Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called at 10.25pm on Friday, April 3, to reports of a group attempting to enter a licensed premises in Broad Street, Launceston, following an earlier argument.
“The men reportedly attacked several people and damaged a door in the bar earlier in the evening.
“Officers attended but the suspects had left. Investigations are ongoing.”
