The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast says conditions for the period from Monday 11 May to Wednesday 20 May are “subject to change and at times quite unstable conditions will prevail towards mid-May, with low pressure often imminent.”
“This means periods of rain or showers, some of which may be heavy, for many places, although some interludes are also expected to be drier.
“For the most part, temperatures will likely be close to or perhaps slightly below normal, but depending on the location of the low pressure relative to the UK, there is the possibility of brief periods of warmer, wetter interludes extending northwards from the immediate continent.
“However, there may be a chance of thunderstorms affecting parts of England and Wales.”
