UK To Relax Visa Norms To Lure Global Talent

Chennai: As the United States creates restrictions on talent mobility, the UK is investigating suggestions to eliminate some visa fees for global ability and attract them to the country.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s “Global Talent Mission Force” report, according to a report by Financial Times, is working on ideas for the world’s best scientists, academics and digital experts to encourage economic growth. This comes at a time when the US increases the H-1B visa fee to $ 100,000 and makes the mobility of global capabilities difficult.

An option is to eliminate visa charges for senior professionals – people who participate in the world’s top five universities or win prestigious prizes. The idea is to reduce costs to zero.

Discussions are directed by Starmer’s Business Advisor Varun Chandra and Science Minister Lord Patrick Vallance by the global talent mission force.

The UK is also trying to help them walk around the visa process to get the brightest and best people to England without diluting the determination to reduce net migration. The UK’s global talent visa, introduced in 2020, cost £ 766 to apply with partners and children who pay the same fee. Generally, every applicant is applied to each applicant.

Visa, Science, Engineering, Humanities, Medicine, Digital Technology or Art and Culture are directed to distinguished people. The year ended in June 2023, the number of global talent visas reaching a total of 3,901 increased by 76 percent.
