The latest ECMWF forecast charts show the cloud of exceptionally warm air spreading over southern, eastern and central England between Monday and Tuesday is expanding, with widespread temperatures above 30C and some hotspots potentially reaching the mid-30s.
The deepest shades of red are concentrated in parts of the South East, East Anglia and the East Midlands, while much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Western Britain remain quite cold.

According to the Met Office, unstable conditions in the north-west will gradually give way to a more settled pattern across much of the UK as high pressure begins to build from the south. Although some areas may experience initial rain and clouds, brighter, drier weather is expected to become increasingly common.
Forecasters say temperatures will rise steadily over the second half of the weekend and into next week, with long periods of sunny weather developing in many areas. The warmest conditions are expected in southern and eastern England, where temperatures are forecast to rise well above the June average and could dip into the mid-30s; Some hotspots could potentially be higher if current estimates are confirmed.
