Millions of Britons are currently enjoying their third heatwave of the year, but new weather maps reveal when this could all be over and temperatures could drop. WXCHARTS maps using MetDesk data show the cold weather will re-emerge in just two days on Sunday, July 19.

According to the charts, temperatures could drop from the 20-degree high the country currently enjoys to chilly 5-degree lows by 6 a.m.; This is 13 degrees below the July average. The coldest parts of the country will be in Scotland, but temperatures will also be below 10C in Cumbria and Durham. Elsewhere, temperatures can be expected in excess of 10C across much of England, with a top temperature of 16C in the South West.

Additionally, while the Met Office has warned of rain in the north of the country, most places will remain dry and sunny.

The forecast for Sunday through Tuesday is as follows: “It will remain nice and dry with sunny skies for most, but scattered rain is possible in the north where clouds thicken. Temperatures remain near seasonal normals on Sunday, then above next week.”

The forecaster said: “Thicker cloud may be visible in northern Scotland, with patchy drizzle at times, while a few isolated showers may develop elsewhere, particularly around north-west England, Wales and south-west England.

“Even so, any rainfall is expected to be light and localized, with most places remaining dry.”
