UK weather maps turn icy blue as brutal -4C Arctic blast hits – 8 coldest cities | Weather | News

The latest weather maps show the UK will face a brutal cold spell as temperatures drop below freezing in many areas. WXCharts.com maps show the mercury could drop below 0C on April 25 and 26, especially in the north of the country.

The cold weather will mainly hit England, Scotland and the north west of England. In Scotland, temperatures can drop to -4C in and around Aberdeen, Glasgow and Dundee, while further south in England temperatures can drop to -3C in places such as Newcastle, Blackpool and Manchester. Other parts of the UK will also be affected by variable weather conditions, although temperatures in places like the Midlands and the North East are likely to remain several degrees below freezing.

The Met Office’s weather forecast for the period from April 18 to April 27 is as follows: “A few showers at the beginning of the period, mainly affecting the north-west, and it will be windy for a while.”

“For most the weekend will be nice and dry with warm sunshine, but there will still be some cool nights.

“Next week fronts associated with another low pressure in the Atlantic will attempt to move towards the UK, but they may struggle to move against the high pressure area to the north-east.

“Therefore, there is a higher chance of some rain in western areas, while northern and eastern areas may see plenty of dry weather. Temperatures are likely to remain above average.”
