Unexplained ‘green mass’ sighted in Loch Ness
A tourist appears to have captured the Loch Ness Monster on camera after taking a photo of an unidentified “green mass” in the water.
Sharon Herbert, from Kent, England, was visiting Scotland’s legendary Loch Ness on holiday and took a photo of a mysterious object during her journey across the water on June 23.
He reported this sighting to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sighting Record, which reported that the captain of the Loch Ness ship could not explain the object in the picture.
The report states: “Sharon Herbert, visiting from Kent, photographed an unknown object near the Jacobite tour boat when she arrived on the shores of Urquhart Castle at 10.27am.
“Jacobite Cruises confirmed that their captain said they had no explanation to offer as to what the green mass was.”
The sighting comes just weeks after American tourist Nickolas Weigand visited the infamous site in Scotland in May and, after reviewing footage from the trip, spotted a “mysterious” object in the water.
Nickolas, who recorded the lake with his camera during a bus tour, was unable to explain the strange sight and submitted a report to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sighting Register, telling the organization: “During filming, I was only looking through the viewfinder of my camera rather than the lake itself.
“We were moving quite quickly on the road right next to Loch Ness. Since the duration of our tour was limited, I did not have time to watch the recorded footage until the tour was over.
“After carefully examining the images, I discovered something mysterious and unknown in the depths of the water, quite far from the shore.”
He added: “In the footage and the stills I took from the video, you can clearly see the dark image of something breaking the surface of the water as it passed by.
“The object is relatively large, it measures the distance from where we are on the bus to the distance across the water, using road markings on the shore to measure the size of the thing in the water.”
These observations come after experts warned that a lack of reporting could mean Nessie may have met her demise.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, Rob Long of Loch Ness Research [LNE] The team said: “There is real fear for him as we normally don’t go this long without even exchanging a single glance.
“Normally people from our team see it, but none of us have so far. Others have claimed it, but we have never seen water this quiet.”
“Over the years, views have decreased, but for us it has never been this low. Despite the lack of views, 2024 was the year in which we had the most conclusive evidence that Nessie existed, and the sonar recordings were among the best we have ever had.”
He continued: “So even though the number of views was low, it was of better quality. Now there is nothing.
“Nessie was there, we all know that, but she’s clearly being smart about people looking for her. We also think she’s been kept away from additional activities at the lake, such as people wanting to try swimming in cold water.”
