Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Pushes Clean, Green Srikakulam Vision

Visakhapatnam: Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu participated in Swachh Bharat and Swarnandhra Swachhandra programs along Asaravalli-Kazipet road within Srikakulam Corporation limits. Accompanied by local MLA Gondu Shankar and district collector Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar, he participated in a cleanliness drive and emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and environmental awareness by planting a sapling.

Speaking to the media, Rammohan Naidu reiterated his aim to place Srikakulam among the top ten cities of India. He announced plans to create dedicated bike lanes throughout the city to promote public health and environmentally friendly transportation. He urged citizens to celebrate Sunday as Bicycle Day to promote active mobility and reduce pollution.

He emphasized community participation in monthly cleanliness drives organized from panchayat to state level on the third Saturday. Terming air pollution in Delhi as a wake-up call, he suggested using curtains to reduce dust at construction sites while encouraging people to walk and cycle.

The minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide tree planting initiative and highlighted that more than 2.5 million saplings were planted in Srikakulam last season. He also outlined plans for an industrial hub that would boost employment and assured progress would be made on the proposed Palasa Airport.

Municipal commissioner PVVD Prasada Rao and EO of Arasavalli Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple were among those present.
