Union government speaking to Anthropic about concerns over Mythos: top MeitY official

The Government of India has spoken to Anthropic about concerns about Mythos, a senior official of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) said on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan called it a “real threat” in his virtual speech at a one-day conference on ‘Artificial Intelligence Governance: Ethics, Data Protection and Legal Framework’. The conference was organized by the Deccan Center for International Affairs, Chennai; Dhirubhai Ambani University Faculty of Law, Gandhi Nagar; and IITM Pravartak with support from MeitY.
