American Airlines to fly to Venezuela for first time since 2019

American Airlines It plans to resume service to Venezuela from the United States for the first time since 2019, weeks after the United States captured Venezuela’s president earlier this month.
The American carrier will be the first US carrier to restart service to Venezuela, which has become isolated in recent years after airlines cut service due to unrest in the country.
“American will share additional details regarding its return to service in the coming months as it works closely with federal officials on all necessary permits and safety assessments before resuming service,” the carrier said in a statement Thursday.
America halted service to Venezuela in March 2019 after the pilots’ union told its members to refuse travel to the country after the State Department told US citizens to leave the country and withdrew its diplomats from Venezuela due to unrest.
Delta Airlines And United AirlinesThe company, which suspended service in 2017, did not immediately comment.
