Redemption for Jake Paul’s fiancee as Jutta Leerdam bounces back after heartbreaking fall at Olympic trials

Jake Paul’s fiancée Jutta Leerdam bounced back from a brutal fall at the Dutch Olympic Trials with a stunning performance on the ice just two days later.
Dutch speed skater Leerdam crashed while leaving her signature event, the 1,000 meters, on Friday, and as a result, she did not qualify for the winter games in Milan in February.
A week after his brutal defeat to Anthony Joshua, boxing darling Paul watched from the crowd as Leerdam slipped and fell painfully into a barrier.
And so, the speed skating community watched nervously as Leerdam returned for the 500 meters at Sunday’s event before reminding the world of her outstanding abilities.
The 26-year-old player came second in the 500 meters Olympic qualifiers, right after Femke Kok, with an impressive time of 37.42.
And there was no shame in finishing behind Kok, who set a record of 36.87.

Although there is another qualifying round later in the day, she remains in a strong position to earn a place on the Dutch speed skating squad for the Winter Olympics.
Fans immediately rushed to social media and praised Leerdam for managing to bounce back from the heartbreaking fall just two days ago.
One fan told X: ‘I have a lot of respect for Jutta Leerdam. After falling from 1000 meters, the pressure becomes very high and it gives it at 500 meters. Hats off!’
‘I found the relaxation and stress in Jutta Leerdam flying away. Shortly after the event someone else commented what an amazing 500 meters from Femke Kok.
The 500-meter race took place just two days after Leerdam crashed in the 1000-meter race on Friday and left the Dutch Olympic Trials in tears.
Speaking to reporters later, Leerdam said: ‘I felt like I was standing on something, I just slipped away. I really don’t understand.
‘I’ve been riding very well in training and I feel really good. When I looked at what those girls were riding here, then I would ride easily.
‘I mean no disrespect, but I’ve raced 1:13s here at least 25 times and today I rode one of my best starts. I shot it really well. I almost never fall. There couldn’t be a worse moment. ‘If I had acted ‘normally’ I would have won.’
Fans immediately rushed to social media and praised the way Leerdam recovered
Social media star Paul and speed skater Leerdam have been together since 2023
Earlier this week, her fiancé Paul told her how much she was looking forward to cheering on Leerdam at the Winter Olympics. She often travels to Europe to support him in skating competitions.
Discussing what the near future holds as he recovers from his broken jaw, Paul said on his brother Logan’s ‘Impulsive’ podcast: ‘I’ll be taking some time off to support Jutta at the Olympics (in Milan).
‘Then she will move to Puerto Rico (where Paul lives). Move it here. Maybe we can go snowboarding or something.’
Paul and Leerdam have been together since 2023 after Paul extended her an invitation to appear on his podcast.
“I never, ever expected to go out with him, more than I ever did,” Leerdam said in the documentary profiling Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson earlier this year.
‘Of course I didn’t know much about him. I was only able to scroll through Instagram and form an opinion, as did the whole world. But he’s the opposite.’
Paul, who had four plates fitted to his broken jaw after the Joshua fight and lost teeth in the process, told his brother Logan this week that he wanted to start a family with Leerdam soon.
