UP CM Bans Deployment Of Police Personnel Making Social Media ‘Reels’ At Sensitive Sites

Luckily: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed that state police personnel who create social media “reels” in sensitive places should not be posted there, stressing the need to maintain discipline and etiquette during public service duties. Chairing a late-night review meeting here, the chief minister said cleanliness, safety and vigilance should remain among the top priorities across the state during the upcoming festive season.
“This is not just an administrative responsibility but also an act of service and sensitivity. It is the duty of every officer to ensure the comfort, safety and respect of every devotee,” he said, according to the official statement.
Adityanath reviewed the preparations for Kartik Purnima, Dev Deepawali, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Dadri Mela (Ballia) and Garhmukteshwar Mela (Hapur) through a video conference attended by all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, senior police officers and administrative officers.
He said crowd management, cleanliness and security arrangements must be foolproof as thousands of devotees visit ghats and fairs during festivals.
“No negligence will be tolerated,” he warned.
The Chief Minister directed that adequate lighting, floating barriers, CCTV surveillance, health sub-centres, mobile toilets, left-luggage booths and changing rooms should be provided in advance.
In view of the high water levels and strong river currents, he directed the authorities to actively deploy SDRF and NDRF teams and ensure that no boat trip takes place without life jackets.
He called for “extra vigilance” in areas such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Amroha, Badaun and Ballia, where large gatherings are expected.
Adityanath also examined paddy supply, compensation of rainfall-affected crop and availability of fertilizers and improved seeds.
According to the statement, the prime minister directed that compensation should be paid to the affected farmers without delay and warned against the interference of any middleman in the procurement process.
He has taken a tough stance against illegal mining, ordering special teams to carry out surprise inspections and warning of tough sanctions against officials found negligent.
Reviewing cow shelters, he asked district magistrates to personally inspect the facilities and ensure proper feed, water and medical care for all cattle.
He also directed timely monthly payments to ASHA, Anganwadi, cooks and other wage workers.
During the meeting, the chief minister reviewed the progress of the ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047’ campaign and stated that more than 72 lakh suggestions have been received from districts including Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Bijnor, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Sonbhadra and Gonda.
According to the statement, he said that the initiative should reflect public participation to make the state’s development road map more inclusive and robust.
