UP Weather Today: Check latest forecast for Prayagraj, Lucknow and other places as 8 cities in the state rank among India’s hottest

A severe heat wave continued to affect Uttar Pradesh on April 25, pushing Prayagraj past the 45°C mark and placing eight cities in the state among the hottest cities in the country. The India Meteorological Department has also raised an alarm in multiple regions, warning that extreme heat will continue for the next few days without any change.

UP Weather: Prayagraj ahead as heatwave tightens control

Prayagraj has once again topped the national heat chart by recording temperatures above 45°C. This is not an isolated increase but part of an ongoing trend; The city consistently ranks among the hottest places in recent days. The ongoing spell has harshened daytime conditions, with dry winds and intense sunshine dominating the region.

Lucknow, Varanasi and other cities are not far behind
The heat is spreading across the state. While Lucknow recorded the hottest day of the season at around 42.5°C, temperatures in Varanasi and some other districts also crossed the 43-44°C range.

While cities like Agra, Jhansi, Aligarh and surrounding areas continue to remain under intense heat stress, many districts are reporting some of the highest readings in the country.

UP Weather forecast for April 25: How will today be?

On April 25, most cities in Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness:

  • Maximum temperatures are between 42°C and 45°C
  • Clear and misty sky with strong sunlight
  • Hot winds (toilet) in the afternoon hours
  • Chance of rain is very low

In Prayagraj, forecasts show temperatures hovering around 43-44°C, with hot and dry conditions continuing throughout the day.

Heat wave warning in dozens of districts

Authorities issued a red alert in approximately 60 regions, warning residents about health risks due to extreme heat. Hot nights also increase discomfort and reduce the chance of recovery from daytime exposure.

Uttar Pradesh Weather: When will help arrive?

There is no immediate respite. Weather experts say the heat wave will likely continue through the weekend. However, around April 27-29, a change is expected in the following situations:

  • Clouds and light rain may be visible in Western Uttar Pradesh, including Noida and Ghaziabad
  • It may rain in Lucknow until April 28-29

Uttar Pradesh is currently facing one of its harshest early summer phases, with temperatures running well above normal in major cities. While forecasts point to a slight decline at the beginning of next week, April 25 remains under the influence of a severe heatwave, forcing residents to prepare for several more days of extreme conditions.
