US Halts All Afghan Immigration Requests With Immediate Effect | World News

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said in a statement on its official X account on Thursday that it has indefinitely suspended processing of all immigration requests for Afghan citizens, effective immediately.

The post also stated that the protection and security of the United States and its people remains its sole focus and mission.

President Donald Trump committed a shooting near the White House

US President Donald Trump condemned the shooting of two National Guard soldiers near the White House, calling the act terrorism and a crime against humanity. Briefing the media, Trump said that the detained suspect was a foreigner who came from Afghanistan by air transport in 2021 and described the country as a “hell hole.”

“This is a disgusting attack, an act of evil, an act of hatred, an act of terrorism. It is a crime against our entire nation. It is a crime against humanity,” he said.

Trump confirmed that the Afghan suspect is in custody.

“I can confirm tonight that the Department of Homeland Security is confident, based on the best information available, that the suspect in custody is an alien who entered our country from Afghanistan,” Trump said.
