Priority To North Andhra Water Projects: Ramanaidu

Vijayawada:Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, North and Irrigation water problems that disturb North andhra will be solved as a priority, he said.

“The state government gives priority to the completion of the projects waiting. Following the directives of the Prime Minister, Durmuş irrigation projects aiming to supply water for both agricultural and drinking purposes in North andhra continue to accelerate.”

The Prime Minister would have a special review meeting next week to discuss the importance and progress of these important projects.

The Minister held a review meeting in Vijayawada in Northern andhra projects on Thursday. “In the period of 2014-2019, several important projects for the region were not only approved, but also to a great extent. The next government neglected these projects.” He said.

Among these projects, Vamsadhara Stage-II and Faz-II and Totapalli Dam, 90 percent of the work was left incomplete by the YSRC government, he said.

He said that the current government is determined to maintain and complete all waiting projects. This will allow the end of the drinking and irrigation water crisis in Northern Andhra.

The study also discussed the remaining works of Vamsadhara-Nagavali and Nagavali-Champavati. The Minister asked the current situation of these works of the authorities. Heermandanalam Lift, Madhuwalasa Stage-II and Janjavati reservois were also discussed about the rapid completion of the work.

Although Ramaniidu was financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jaica), he asked for information about the completion of various reservoirs such as Andra reservoir, Raivada, Pedda Kallam, Peddagadda and Vattigadda.
