Margot Robbie joins her real-life Heathcliff Tom Ackerley for shopping trip in bougie Notting Hill

The racy new adaptation of Wuthering Heights promises plenty of fireworks and passion.

But when it comes to romance away from the big screen, it looks like Margot Robbie prefers to keep things low-key.

The 35-year-old Barbie star was spotted browsing vintage clothing shops, art studios and antique stores on a secret shopping trip in Notting Hill with her husband, British producer Tom Ackerley.

And avoiding posh restaurants in West London’s celebrity-studded district, they grabbed a £7.50 pita pack from vegan takeaway Falafel King, which Tom dug into.

Spending some time together without their one-year-old son, the laid-back couple smiled and held hands as they passed almost unnoticed among shoppers on Portobello Road.

An old dresser that Tom photographed in a store stood out in particular.

Australian star Robbie carried a bag from designer Rejina Pyo’s fashion and homewares boutique, while Tom had a bag from personalized perfume store Le Labo.

He wore blue jeans and Converse trainers, a long leather jacket, red beret and sunglasses, while Tom, 35, wore a £400 Jacquemus hoodie.

Tom is the producer of the sexually charged new remake of Wuthering Heights, directed by Saltburn’s Emerald Fennell.

She plays the title character, Cathy Earnshaw, whose intense love for her wife, mysterious orphan Heathcliff, played by Jacob Elordi, leads to heartache and tragedy for two generations of families on the windswept Yorkshire moors.

Critics criticized the casting of the white Elordi as what character writer Emily Bronte described as ‘dark-skinned’, while Robbie was thought to be ‘too old’ to portray Cathy, a young girl in the novel.

However, Fennell said the film needed “someone like Margot…someone who has god-like power, which means people lose their minds.”
