World’s largest pumpkin grown by English brothers smashes record | News

The world’s heaviest and largest pumpkin was grown by twin brothers who broke two world records last weekend.

Ian and Stuart Paton took the record at a giant vegetable weigh-in in Reading on Saturday (October 4) after their giant fruit weighed 2,819lbs (1,278kg) and was over 21ft (6.4m) in girth.

Footage from Sunnyfields Farms, where the pumpkins are on display, shows the fruit being lifted by a crane.

“After 51 years of growing squash, Ian and Stuart Paton have grown the largest fruit ever on planet earth,” Sunnyfields Farms wrote in a Facebook post.

The record for both the heaviest and largest pumpkin relative to its circumference belongs to Travis Gienger.
