US moving troops across Middle East bases amid escalating tensions with Iran | World News

The United States has initiated the strategic movement of military personnel from various bases in the Middle East for undisclosed operations. The move comes amid growing concerns about a possible direct military conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the news of The Jerusalem Post based on The New York Times, Pentagon officials reported that hundreds of soldiers were moved from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, according to information provided by Pentagon officials.
Similar troop movements have been observed at numerous U.S. installations in the Middle East, including Bahrain, home to the Navy’s 5th Fleet, as well as Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

Officials have reportedly expressed concern that the 30,000 to 40,000 US forces deployed in the region could be Iran’s primary target in the event of a large-scale conflict.
Military experts noted that a potential conflict would be different from the attack on Al Udeid in June 2025, for which Iranian officials had given advance warning to the United States.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Iran’s mission to the UN issued a stern warning stating that in the event of any American attack, “all bases, facilities and assets of enemy power in the region would constitute legitimate targets.”
In response to these threats, the United States has reportedly strengthened its regional presence by deploying air defense systems to protect its forces and assets.
Additionally, the two aircraft carriers are kept at a safe distance from Iranian territory to reduce their vulnerability to possible reprisals. Reports said these maneuvers indicated a high level of preparedness for what was likely to be a protracted conflict.
Although the Trump administration continues to formally seek a diplomatic solution, insiders suggest Tehran’s current proposals may be insufficient to deter US President Donald Trump from considering military action.
The reports also stated that domestic planning has become more detailed and ambitious, with the President recently raising the possibility of regime change in Iran.
