The world’s number one Aryna Sabalenka passed Hope Amanda Anisimova to protect the US open title and finally protect the first Grand Slam cup of the year.
Sabalenka had a more stable level to win 6-3 7-6 (7-3) in the war between the two largest balls of the women’s game.
However, victory did not come without a little tension.
